This page is dedicated to the 653 dogs who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge either while under the care of PugHearts or with their adopted families.
Although it is always sad to lose any dog to the Bridge, we are comforted in the knowledge that they knew they were loved. Because of generous donations from people like you, even terminally ill hospice dogs have a chance to experience love and compassion in their final days.
Violet is a black female.
We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old.
She is heartworm negative and has been spayed.
She is current on her vaccinations.
Veronica is a young female from a local shelter.
She has a serious case of demodex mange with a skin infection.
She is heartworm negative and already spayed.

She is approximately 2-3 years old, and heartworm negative.
Currently, she is being bathed 3 times per week to treat mange, and her coat is returning to a gorgeous fawn color.
She loves her baths, and enjoys being bathed.
She will sleep in her crate, or in bed with you, and goes to the door when she needs to potty.
Veronica loves to go on walks, and play fetch in the house or yard She responds to the "come" command.. She plays with all of our dog toys on a daily basis, running with them, and throwing them into the air, and catching them mid air.
This cutie patootie is smart, and full of energy.
She gets along well with my two male Pugs, who are laid back, yet with females, she tends to be the alpha dog.
Veronica would love an active home where she is loved, and kept active.
04-17-16: Sadly, Veronica has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
Valentino - an apricot male pug that has a lot of energy and loves running around.
At the age of 1, he is playful and always wants to be around his human.
He feels peaceful when sleeping on the bed with his parent, but he can also sleep on his own.
However he does not like to be crated, he will bark gently and let you know.
He is 70% trained but he will soon be fully housebroken.
Valentino is smart and he knows his name in just few days.
This little guy loves to be walked by his foster dad daily and get excited whenever seeing dad hold his hardness.
He gets along well with people, his favorite is sleeping and relaxing on the sofa while his parents are watching tv.
This is a tall guy but not fat, his weight is at 22 lbs.
He was found randomly on the street and was safely handled to PugHearts.
Unfortunately, Valentino is heartworm positive and will be on treatment before being ready to adopt.
At 4:58, while I was coaching, I got a text from Erika…emergency at Pasadena AC.
As luck would have it, I’m off at 5 and I can see the shelter from the gyms parking lot.
I said I’d be there in 5 minutes, and would they wait?
I got there, wasted no time and was in the car immediately.
I texted Cindy and Erika immediately.
“Oh my god” in other words, this is bad.
When she called, I hadn’t even unwrapped her blanket to know her sex.
When I did, I saw the umbilical cord.
I knew it was a she and she wasn’t a week old.
I texted Dr. Hendrix my ETA, and any info he knew or didn’t.
I gave her a name.
VERA.
A name meaning Faith in Russian.
We weighed her.
We tried to feed her.
We were unsuccessful.
It was time for little, tiny, innocent Vera to go.
I held her.
I kissed her.
I told her she’d have so many there to meet her.
And she went to sleep.
With a name.
With so many that already loved her.
More than I can say for the rest of the litter.
That was already dead.
I pray these people don’t breed their dogs again.
I pray they reach out for help earlier.

Vito is an 18 month old male.
He comes to PugHearts after suffering from frequent ongoing seizures and requiring an abdominal surgery for suspected foreign body obstruction.
He is heartworm negative and being evaluated for possible PDE.
