This page is dedicated to the 653 dogs who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge either while under the care of PugHearts or with their adopted families.
Although it is always sad to lose any dog to the Bridge, we are comforted in the knowledge that they knew they were loved. Because of generous donations from people like you, even terminally ill hospice dogs have a chance to experience love and compassion in their final days.
Yoda passed away on December 24th 2012 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was loved dearly by Carolyn and Crystal and he could not have wanted for love than he had.
------------------- Yoda is an 8 year old fawn male.
He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own.
He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.
He is now heartworm negative, having gone through heartworm treatment.
He is in pretty good health but does have some residual heart damage which means he needs daily medication to keep his heart strong.
He also suffers from 'dry eye' which is so common in pugs.
He will need daily drops to his eyes to keep him comfortable.
Zeta is a fawn female.
We believe she is about 4 years old.
She comes to us from an East Texas animal control facility.
She was found wandering and a nice lady set things in motion to get her to us.
Zeta is heartworm positive and will have to go through treatment.
From Zeta's foster: Remember that person that everyone wanted to be near, who always attracted friends and admirers without trying?
That's Zeta!!
Everyone in the house quickly fell in love with her.
The others follow her around the yard saying 'Play with ME!'
Had a bad day?
Just look at Zeta and it'll all melt away, especially when she's letting the tip of her tongue hang out, as she's prone to do.
When I head to work, she knows 'Go to your room'.
She's house-broken and crates well.
Of course, she doesn't mind sleeping in bed with you either!
Sweet little Zeta crossed the rainbow bridge on November 19th, 2011 while going through heartworm treatment.
From her foster Mom.
I smile when I recall her face and the tip of her tongue hanging out.
She was the first one I’ve fostered that really liked hugs and snuggling in my neck.
Everyone else wiggles.
;-)
From Yoda's foster: How do we say goodbye to this beautiful boy who's been a part of our lives for four years.
How do we move forward when the tears are blinding.
This one is truly the hardest.
Enjoy the Rainbow Bridge our Yoda, our Yoder Moder, our Low Rider, our boy, our love.
You have your eyes back and can see the world now.
You have no more itchy skin allergies, no more dizziness, no more pain from arthritis.
You don't have to take pills anymore and you don't have to endure anymore poking or prodding.
You had the cutest little snore when you slept and I held you today until the snore was no more.
Thank you for letting me heard it one last time.
Thank you for letting me and foster daddy Bill be your home, your safe place.
We love you so much and will miss you just as much.
PugHearts did right by this pug.
Anything he needed was done for him.
He may have had the label foster but he didn't know that label, he was home with us.
Zoey is a 7-8 yr old black female.
She is dealing with worsening seizures at this time and we will be monitoring her closely.
She is heartworm negative.
9-27-14: Zoey left us for the Rainbow Bridge and full health on Sept 27th.
She had been having seizures and we believe she had a stroke.
The stroke left her unable to eat or sit up.
She was a wonderful lady and will be missed greatly.
Her foster Moms love her dearly and will always love her.
Little Yvette is 9 years old.
At some point she was hit by a car which broke her back in two places.
But that does not stop this little firecracker.
She has superior upper body strength and walks just fine on rough or textured surfaces (doesn't do well on slick tile).
She does have a wheelchair but only uses it at adoption events.
She is totally continent of bowel and bladder.
You take her outside and she does her business.
And like all other dogs, she loves to sniff the messages.
During the day she has her area she hangs out and at night she sleeps in her dog bed on the floor in our bedroom.
I make her walk about 3 times a day from the back yard to the front of the house.
Exercise does her good!
She loves food, squeaky toys, head scratches and someone petting her.
She is a little love and so easy to care for.
Don't let handicapped pugs scare you.
Update 6-14-17: Yvette, 6-14-2017, Enjoy the Rainbow Bridge, our Sweetness, our Yvette the Corvette, our Teflon girl, there was no stronger pug than this one.
She was loved beyond measure and will be missed.
Zena is an older fawn female who was an owner surrender with her brother Ziggy.
They are a bonded pair.
We will know more soon.
Foster Yvonne is a spunky 10 year old who came to us with the worst UTI I have ever seen in my life.
She was expelling entire blood clots and we worried something may be horribly wrong internally.
To our massive relief, it really was nothing but a raging UTI that we got under control after two rounds of antibiotics so she is healthy and ready to find her furever home.
Yvie is pocket size at 13 very compact pounds, and while incontinent she has 0 accidents when expressed regularly and needs no diapers even at night - it really is easy and we are happy to teach you.
I would go as far as to say it’s a bonus since you don’t need to wait for her to find the right spot, you just squeeze her and she’s all done - great for rainy days!
She is crate trained and fierce.
She has very many opinions and occasionally she is so bold that she tries to play with the bulldogs and they love it!
She is extremely velcro, lets you hold her like a baby and when you play with her, she burrows her precious face into you.
Her back legs are a little wobbly but she’d wobble across the world to be with you.
Please consider this girl if you need some spice and smiles in your life.
She is everything anyone could dream of and more.
Meet foster Zelda!
At nine years young, she's the queen of cuddles and companionship.
This sweet girl is healthy and happy, with just a little arthritis in her back legs—because, hey, who doesn’t have a few aches and pains at her age?
Zelda gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely *adores* her person.
And just look at that face… how could anyone say no?
Zelda is ready to find her forever family who’ll shower her with all the love and snuggles she deserves!
Courtney's little angels, too fragile for this world.
This is Zara.
She is a 3 year old French bulldog pug mix.
She has lots of good energy heartworm negative and spade.
Everything is good with her health.
One dog household would be best.
Do not recommend cats, she loves people active people would be great or/and children 8 or 10 and up would be wonderful.
She is wild young, but does love to cuddle.
She needs training, but will make someone or family a great companion.
